I had a lovely evening at the preview of the SFSA Drawing Open at No Format gallery and even sold a small piece. It is going to a very good home …
The Dover Print Fest was very low key but really enjoyable because of the in-depth conversations I was able to have with those people who visited. Interesting words used about my work: mesmerising, deceptive, mysterious, open, freer …… Lots to ponder as a result.
I also realised that I should describe myself as often using printmaking processes ….
Oh and I sold 4 pieces.
These 3 drawings will be in the SFSA Drawing Open tomorrow.
51 artists are showing work and there will be 111 drawings to look at!

Really excited to announce that I have been commissioned by Dover District Council to make an artist’s film to portray Russell Gardens in Dover Kent, the only example of Thomas H Mawson’s garden design in the South East that is open to the public.
I’ll be starting a separate blog to chart progress.
So while waiting to hear whether my work will be included in an exhibition in Dalby Forest I have been sorting out stuff in the studio and getting rid of old work that does not speak to me … I am keeping key pieces that marked a change in direction or that still have a resonance of some kind. In the process though I have been coming across work that is asking for more attention! Like ghost prints …
This is one I found and finished with brush and ink.
So I have until 22nd to finish some new work and photograph it for inclusion in a proposal…..
This is what I have so far…
I don’t want to jinx things by saying too much other than that there is hopefully also a related video piece.
