Well, I think we have made a decision to go through a visa service for our visa. This will last another 30 days, and then we will have to do it again in Chongqing. However, they are apparently less stringent in Chongqing, so they don’t require all of the deposits in chinese bank accounts. I think the travel to Hongkong would have been a bit tiring.
So now, this decision has been made, I can now think about work again. I was talking to Gordon about the Shenyang shop (women bashing appliances to vent anger), and he thinks there might be more of them around. He suggests I get a good interpreter to do a good search online. We also discussed the ideas of the service industry – the strange training of chinese to have a western smile.

We went to a few openings last night – http://en.cafa.com.cn/chuan-men-the-third-exhibition-of-the-austro-sino-arts-program-opens-at-amelie-gallery-beijing.html A lot of Austrian artists, and also Michael Downs, an australian artist – I am not sure quite how he got involved though. Maybe the Australian/austrian sort of connection. We then moved on to CaoChongdi to IOWA space, where Ingrid and Daniel, artists from Italy and France (now living in Berlin) were having a small opening and farewell party.
Today, we have Pablo’s birthday – the weather is shocking. Its freezing outside and raining – so my idea of playing in the courtyard of platform china is not really going to work. We may need to move into the studio – but its not so nice in here, but atleast its warm. We need to find balloons, find somefood, etc.
