She’s surrounded by fabulous flowers, branches in bud and green trails reaching towards her like moths to light. She sees them and happily invites them to envelope her as she breathes in their beauty and aliveness. In that selfless embrace she’s forgotten her own brightness, the guile of those baby blues that never fail to magnify the brilliance of those around her.

Recharging in those quiet times, this small, much-used hotel entrance gives love in her welcome by the bucket load to her weary travellers. She doesn’t receive much love back as she’s repeatedly slammed to and fro. She tries to keep her hinges working and tries not to mind that her once-proudly pristine sign is barely legible now. Her heart lifts during the in between times of the day and night when she can be meditative in stillness.

She’s soft and squishy in a kind of marshmallow way. Beautifully painted and the kind of gal you can disclose your thoughts to her confidential ear. She’s discerning about whom she bestows her confidences to though, the door to her heart has complicated locks.
