Cosily sipping tea and slathering clotted cream on fruit scones, I’m contentedly idling underneath one of these historic arches. My blooms have extended far beyond my stone confines and frame me beautifully. Soft petals brush my face and ruffle mildly in the breeze as I pour another cup.

Can you see me on this summer’s day, squirrelled away under the awning? Petals are preening under the sun, leaves unfurl to luxuriate in the rays. They expand in their flourishing and prettily beckon you to inhale their fragrance. You’ll find me waiting patiently for you to tiptoe between the flowerpots.

Don’t be deceived by the dark entrance beneath my leafy fringe. My blooms are my colour and light, come and behold my many jewels inside. You may just take a little piece of petalled-brilliance with you when you leave.
