She’s a little weary and her mascara has smudged. Her lipstick has faded so you can just make out the edges and everything has sort of smeared. This lady hung up her dancing shoes a while ago but her heart shines through with love and warmth in that raggedy, be ok in the morning kind of way.

Rusty bolts, warped wood and stuck locks – this door is living in her memories of times gone by. Dreams and hope of several generations still reside in faithfully applied layers of paint that peek out as others peel and flake in the sun.

She’s warm, welcoming and full of heart. People have stopped by, popped in, stayed for a while or a lifetime and all have felt her embrace as they cross the threshold. Passions can flare, hearts can cool but the sense of kind goodwill is contagious as affectionate energies heal and caress.

Taking a break from having danced for hours, this door is puffing hard. She loves a carnival and has pranced with the best of doors. The festive spirit has infused her soul so she glows from her dancing heart.

The palette knife has been cleaned, the collage papers tidied and the paints stowed away – for now. Here’s all my paintings of the last thirty days. I’m proud for having tried something I hardly knew for so long – and actually love these paintings. This collection has inspired little nuggets of ideas in my mind and it’s great to have painted in this way with the chance to explore. It’s just a start, but a dedicated one.
Thank you for sharing these days with me :)
