As I haven’t been in the new studio to actually work yet, I thought I’d show some of the things I have been up to recently.
Installation in Liverpool Central Library for the Liverpool Artists Book Exhibition.

‘616 Balustrades’ was an installation in direct response to the Hornby Room in Liverpool Central Library. A site specific installation using the 112 stone balustrades along the balcony as inspiration.
Hugh Frederick Hornby donated funds to have this reading room built to house his bequeathed collection of rare books in 1906. My work links the balconies together in celebration of these books. Each paper balustrade mirrors the design of the stone ones in this room and is individually hand cut from old edition law books that can no longer be used as reference, rendering them extraneous.
The Liverpool Book Art exhibition was in The Hornby Reading room from 2nd June to 6th July.
