So Northumbria Auction 10 was last night. Overall it was a good night, although it would have been better if there had been no empty seats. I had signed up to help with payment and packaging yet I still managed to leap into the bidding and spend £100 on two artists works (five pieces in total, I keep telling myself, to spread the cost out!)
My pieces sold for £45 and £20, I was slightly teary about the lower amount (I blame the wine for that) but soon realised that a lot of people’s work went for lower than expected. I guess you can’t control an auction; who goes and how much money they bring!
Yes, it’s been a long week at uni, I’m even in the library now trying to work on my statement….I used the DVX 100 for the first time and got some (slightly shakey) footage of my installation. I now need to see how much editing I can do on it before I spend the next month practicing and perfecting!
