Following on from my project last year using space within installation art, I am looking to explore how I can manipulate a viewer’s perception of the space they are in. This idea stems from a comment made by a lecturer after he saw my first installation piece in the second year. Considering I’d almost filled the space I was using, he said it felt like the space was bigger. That got me thinking that people’s perception of a given space can be altered even if they know how big the space is to start with.

In my final year of BA (Hons) Fine Art degree at University Campus Suffolk, I'm fascinated in spatial awareness and how we perceive space. Using my art practice I'll be exploring our perception of the large scale and small scale environments.
