As it is still the Easter Holidays I have not managed to do any cerebral work for quite some time. Aside from a few sneaky sketchbook notes I haven’t had a moment of spare brain space to think about my work. Neither have I had enough time to do much running. London Marathon in 9 days.

Trying to get the last bits of fundraising done to get to my target of £1500 for the RNIB I did a couple of workshops at my local library. It is a while since I have done this ‘SPRING CHICKEN’ project and I had forgotten how much I liked the look of them. Here are the chickens made by the children.

If you feel inclined please sponsor me – I am still £300ish short of target….

Not sure what I have to say today other than as usual everything goes to pieces over any holiday period. I don’t know why I even try to do anything as I just end up getting extra frustrated when plans are scuppered once again.

Two things happened today. Seeing some friends who we haven’t seen for a couple of years I was asked how I practised my art. I have never been asked this exact wording before and in the moment I was confused – images of my daughter practising scales on the piano flashed before me – how dare he, I thought, I am not practising – I’m a proffessional!

Secondly sitting on the shelf, my luridly (and beautifully) coloured Pipilotti Rist book caught their eyes – I remembered – I want to do some projection and sound pieces – how could I have forgotten?

The Easter holidays have started. Any work will be a challenge. P4WD on hold.

With my ‘chief technical problem solver’ yesterday I tested the supports for the new GYO*BYO flowers. Trying to keep it natural we are going to graft some branches onto the trees. – I think this should work quite well and was just worried about the strength of the branches but this seems to be fine.

See what you think.

ok this is speedy post. boys are in the garden playing… i think I have about three minutes before they try to kill each other again and I am back in mediationmummy mode.

Got some sounds working today… am going with a theme of Mongolian Throat Warbling. Not quite what I expected but sounding suitably ethereal. (if a little gruff).

Mouthorgan madness produced nothing but debris. Shame as I’m sure I could get it to work if only I had a bit of expertise. I shall consult my friendly instrument man at the weekend.

On an expected note – rejection from Summer Exhibition plopped neatly onto the doormat – right on time. Fifty quid down the proverbial – how depressing.
