Time, it seems, really does wait for no-one.
We have still not received the paper work that needs to be signed and sealed before we access the unit (on Monday).
Still we carry on regardless … there really is nothing like a bit of blind optimism to get you through the day.
It’ll be fine.
In the meantime I am continuing (perhaps still with blind optimism) with my valiant efforts to create a bit of brilliant art for the show. There’s a few new pieces that have wandered off down a slightly different path, and I’m not entirely sure where they’ve gone… which is simultaneously very exciting and utterly terrifying.
So here we are with just 8 days separating us and the private view… wish us luck…I’ve a feeling we’ll need it
Hurrah, whoopie, good times and all that. We have the West Bromwich show all confirmed – now we just need to actually do it.
In our wisdom (and lack of funds) , we thought that it was a marvelous idea to set up this show in 5 days. This includes converting a neglected retail unit into something that vaguely resembles an exhibition space. Even the Lord himself needed 7 days (granted he was making the whole world, but still) But no, Pretty Vacant only need 5 days.
As long as we refrain from luxurys like sleeping and eating we should be ready in time :)
No, I jest, of course we will be ready in time and it will be a breeze. Not stressful at all. Very calm experience I expect.
All thats left to say is please come down and have a look at our little show. The show runs from 29th August – 12th September, and is open daily 10am to 4pm. We are occupying unit 41-24 in the Queens Square Shopping centre, West Bromwich.
come on. you know you want to.
Our first show in Stourbridge was a complete success; we recived an overwhelming amount of support and positive feedback.
So, naturally, we’d like to do it all again. Except a bit bigger and a bit better.
Our next occupation looks set to be in West Bromwich. We have secured a unit, and now we are awaiting an estimation of the fees we’ll have to pay. Thus, the game is currently a waiting one; until we can be sure we can cover the cost, everything is on hold.
Fingers crossed my next post will bring good tidings.
