From single intuitive hand movements to rigorous systems employed to mark a paper surface, Rachael challenges the act of mark making.
Her work focuses on chance, which is faced against elements of control and structure. When one faces the other the work is subject to chaotic and dynamic results.
Rachael Elwell recently graduated with a Masters Degree in Fine Art. Her work has recently been featured at ArTol Kunst Labor (DE) and the International Fibre Collaborative New York (USA). Rachael Elwell is the founder member of the Manchester based fibre collective ArtYarn.
