Viewing single post of blog Shared Ground

Here is a selection of the finished books with statements from the artists to explain their intentions:

Sunny Taylor Shared Ground

This book is an opportunity for the viewer to imagine what might occur if many of the beautiful spaces and structures within Liverpool and Wirral literally shared the same ground. The fragmented and layering images create a sort of portrait of this place, what I guess will be reminiscent of the visual memories I will take home with me after my short visit here.

Anna Clark Shelter

I find myself drawn to Wirral’s coast, particularly the Victorian promenades with their glorious seascapes. My book is a moment in the life of one of the remaining shelters where people come and go, walking their dogs, staring out to sea and watching the world go by. I have combined different layers, some transparent, some translucent to give an idea of the range of activities and perspectives in and around the shelter.

Fiona Philipps Untitled

My book represents my life experiences and memories of St Bridget’s School and Church. It also looks at the generations past and present that have passed through the school.

Rachel Perry Adventure Playground

As a child I loved to have adventures and make up stories. I have explored my childhood through the colours and images of this book.

Maggie Golightly Finding Answers

My book is about understanding – figuring out certain aspects of my own life while being in a new city and environment.
