Plans for the degree show have now been drawn up. Following the meeting with the Mark Wild on Wednesday a few points need to be developed:
Re-arrangement of boards in studio to acquire a more aesthetic spatial element for the show.
Presenting well accessible initial access to the show.
Lighting and plug fittings to be taken into consideration.
As a whole the show is coming together, the developments of students work is becoming more clarified and the cu-ration team has managed to gauge a more accurate perception of the shows dynamic with reference to the title of SPECTRUM.
The most recent updates from the Curating team follows:
Each person from both Fine Art and CAP have been allocated a space is one of the spaces.
Plans have been drawn up specifying a location for each person according to their proposal for the degree show.
These plans will be put forward to head technician on wednesday and will be confirmed.
Update following Curating meeting yesterday 13th March.
Upstairs agc studio group began selecting artists work appropriate for exhibition upstairs. Initial deciding factor was strong lighting.
Selection began on bases of converging abstract drawings, paintings, large scale portraiture and textile sculpture. Based on themes such as relationship between the natural environment, the human dwelling of the home and colours integration in these contexts.
This initial list of people will be discussed with main group before drawings of floor and board plans are made.
This blog will be used as a tool for monitoring and deciding upon curating decisions leading up to the Sheffield Hallam University degree show “spectrum”
Update: Curating team to split into 4 groups to identify individual proposals suitability to exhibit in 1 of the 4 spaces.
Bi-weekly meetings to identify strengths in year groups, aim to convey a flow throughout each floor of studio’s and Site Gallery.
To print large blueprints of spaces and begin plotting drawing walls, maybe a maze?
