This art was made the day after spurn hosted a ‘Beach clean’ therefore the art is much more organically based as I use the existing land around me rather than synthetic waste. The lack of litter is brilliant for the environment but means my compositions feature more muted tones than eye-catching ‘plastic’ hues. I found it much more challenging to create ‘quick’ work from the land as much more thought needed to go into my surroundings. The collection of art as a whole is already showing a strange juxtaposition between nature and humanity and how the smallest action can have a huge impact on the bigger picture.
Site Specific Spurn Art
This blog will document the live art I create at Spurn and my experience of the environment. Focusing on the 'psycho-geography' of the place I aim to explore all aspects of my surroundings, natural and synthetic.
