Some photos of my little house sculptures :)
Well, i now have two more models of houses to go with the first one :) I think they’re the right scale.
Now I need to start making some tiny people. Theyre going to need to be smaller than the ones I made for the last one so they’re in proportion to the tiny houses, then i can scale them up. I seem to remember the last little people I made were all carefully drawn out, and then I slipped whilst cutting them out with the scalpel and inadvertantly sliced off some key parts which resulted in hearing a lot of highly sympathetic jokes
The book man came along today with a large array of shiny new books. I found a couple on animation which I snaffled and will hopefully give me some ideas on how to film my next project :D Yay for books. Although it’s slightly surreal to buy lovely clean new books and at the same time be cutting up old damaged ones. :( But I’m reassured with the knowledge that they’re getting used, rather than ending their life as pulp.
The degree show meeting was cancelled for today and rearranged for Wednesday, mainly because all the printing quotes for potential catalogue ideas haven’t come back yet so there wouldn’t be a lot to discuss… But it did mean I finally had time to get back to my little paper models! :D started the first of three scaled houses, I’m thinking I need a tiny house to go with the mini school, a medium sized house to go with the larger school and a giant house to do a video scene which focuses on the window. And then I can experiment with how to light each of them :) wow this is starting to sound like a scene from goldilocks and the three bears…
We had contextual studies this morning and I handed in the first draft of my dissertation- YAY! It was oddly satisfying.
Then at lunchtime the group got together to have a group photo taken to go in the catalogue and some individual shots of us ‘pretending the photographer wasn’t there and concentrating hard on work’ hmmm… I’m sure there’s going to be 13 pages of people trying desperately hard to keep a straight face whilst not looking at the camera. :/
