The intriguing building methods of the industrial age have inspired me in making architectural installations, sculptures and paintings. Mirroring that of bridges and old factories, my installations mimic this particular style and aesthetics; the only difference is pulling them out of its' context, and displaying them within a newer space or white cube. The instant coherence here is the theatrical element I wish to convey in my pieces.
The once labour-intensive methods of making these structures have been replaced with the use of modern, lightweight and more practical materials; yet, still preserving its' visually impressive, grandeur and over-engineered qualities.
