wow, it’s been busy. didn’t think i’d write that so soon.
the results are out too. i’m now quite happy with the result i achieved. it was apparent to me that unless you’ve been through a degree yourself, the meaning of 2-1 is somewhat vague. as i described it to one friend, it means i’m not a geek, which he was well pleased with.
i’ve had to consider my position on whether i pay to exhibit or not. it was certainly something i had to go through, if only to realise that actually spending a little money to begin with is what one has to do. the opportunity to exhibit, once additional info was released, like when the exhibition was planned for, i did come round to realising that it might be a good idea to spend that money. as a result i’ll be exhibiting in a show in late august. additional info nearer the time.
i’m volunteering now too. it’s a project in leicester. it fits into many categories of good things. i’ll be getting some invigilation experience, being a guide for tours and photographing members of the public for the exhibition archive. on friday last week one of my first jobs was to check over some mannequins and repair their paint. i was fine until i started loading the heads onto the bodies. i got quite freaked out when i realised i was putting male looking heads onto female torsos. great thing is i’ve been able to practice newly learnt photoshop skills on some images of the mannequins.
at the weekend i visited some friends working at emerge at shipley park. derbyshire youth services were represented there. i had a very interesting chat with several youth service workers, it has opened my eyes to possibilities with them.
i am definitely in a what’s possible, what’s out there phase. i will have to exercise some editing skills to make sure i pursue the routes that interest me the most.
as an aside, i’m off to liverpool this weekend to hopefully exchange some of my time for money.
i’ve been considering the invitation to send in proposals for images. i feel it’s about time i had a go at turning my thoughts into written text. i still have nothing to loose by having a go.
