Ex champions Olby stood by their word and made life difficult for a tired looking Novia with a one goal to nil victory. Novia boss: ‘Credit to the lads out there today, I’m still waiting for the Bayerns result to come through but it looks like we’ve blown it to be honest…can’t really say any more to you guys at the moment, it’s very emotional for the players in the dressing room.’

I thought Novia were gonna get at least a draw against Olby. Our players were so low after our defeat to Novia two weeks ago, but we continued to believe in ourselves, digging deep and here we are with the Sporting League trophy! I’ve got huge respect for our board, who in spite of all the financial difficulties over the last year, made funds available in the New Year…that was the key for us.’
Athletico recorded the highest ever points tally for third place (ninety two points) with a two goals to one win over Tranquilayers. Athletico chairperson: ‘ Lovely performance there. I’m well pleased with all the staff, remember, we’re the only truly independent club in The Sporting League and the financial rewards for a top three finish in the current climate cannot be underestimated.’
Dons joined Indentine as the second relegated team as they were beaten in a fiery performance by Bombaya. Dons boss: ‘We’ll do the tour for a few years, we need the time out to be fair. I criticised Bombaya at the start of the game for their commitment, but I’ve gotta eat my words now.’
**Dons have now officially sacked their boss as they have said there needs to be a ‘serious downscale of the company.’ (Dons PR dept).

Pointeso were also voted into the league after a successful pitch made in Sporting City – beating two hundred competitors.
