Sporting League: Game 29

Bayerns put three goals past seventeenth placed Metronova without reply. Pundit L: ‘I’ve never understood why Metro never seem to get it together. It’s a great set up over there, a fantastic city, but the football just ain’t happenin’. I think it’s a curious place as most of the city is underground. I’m off to zone 34S at the weekend as I picked up a couple of tickets to the theatre.’

Athletico put a goal past Lunderbach with a minute to spare to sustain their challenge for the elusive third position in the table. Athletico boss: ‘I had a bit of a sixth sense about this game. We got ourselves a good break away from home which is keepin’ us in contention for the number three position.’

Tranquilayers scored early against Sporting Athlete to hold onto their slender one point advantage at the top of the tree.

Sporting Radio Pundit X: ‘It looks like Tranquilayers are edging past opponents at the moment – doing just enough to hold onto their slender lead. I don’t know about them really. It may sound a bit glib, but it’s true that we’re getting to the business end of the season and it’s all Tranquilayers and Bayerns.’

Relegation fodder Drakens still required a victory to begin to put on the pressure on their nearest rivals Green Tree after letting two goals in against Yop Lane. Yoppite gaffer: ‘I though that we did ourselves some justice out there in the rain and showed our class when it mattered. OK, a top three finish is beyond us now, but the top six is all to play for. It was good to see how fresh our guys looked after the match.’

Sporting League: Game 28

Bayerns and Tranquilayers both had penalties either side of half time in a match that failed to live up to it’s lofty expectations. Sporting Radio Pundit X: ‘We didn’t see the best of the top two with that performance. I think Tranquilayers possibly shaded it and will come away from the game the happier of the two sides.’

There were a series of arrests as Universo defeated Indentine by a goal to nil.

A Sporting police spokesman quoted by Millington Consortia said that the arrests came “after multiple warnings by police were given to both sets of supporters to stay within their designated zones within the stadium.”

The Sporting League will fine both clubs and stated that all future Indentine versus Universo games will take place behind closed doors.

Sporting Radio Pundit X: ‘I’ve been sayin’ it all season that there is a bit of a bitter streak creeping back into the Universo following like the old days. I think that they sweep it all under the carpet for marketing purposes but you can’t go about gilding a violent lily.’
