Sporting League: Game 16.
Runaway leaders Pointeso suffered their first defeat of the campaign with a three goals to two loss against plucky Red Star.
Red Star boss: ‘There’s a lot of talent in our squad and we proved that against the champions elect. We had the heart and determination to stick in the game. We were physical…we didn’t let Pointeso play their natural game in the second half. We controlled things after we scored straight at the start of the second half.’
Pundit L: ‘What did you see from the outset that you thought ‘We’ve got a chance here?’
Red Star boss: ‘I thought we’ve got to concentrate on our own game and let the rest take care of itself. We had a totally different mindset for this one compared to the defeat by Novia. I think Pointeso were thinking ‘hey this isn’t in the script.’ It was a fantastic performance by our guys – now for the match against Green Tree.’
Pundit L: ‘Good luck’
Red Star Boss: ‘Thank you.’
Sporting League Game 15.
Pointeso continued their crusade to Sporting domination with a straight forward goal to nil win over Delta. Pointeso boss: ‘We worked for our money today, and to be fair, I didn’t expect anything else against Delta. It’s always going to be a tough ask trying to break their defensive line but when we got our chance the result was never in doubt.’
Sporting Radio Pundit X: ‘I popped out to the shops and heard the Pointeso goal on the radio. There were people jumping around in the aisles – I’d only popped out for a sausage roll and there was a near riot.’
Pundit Y: ‘You need to cut back on all the fast food mate, get y’self on the ol’ treadmill again, polishes up the ol’ boots…’
Pundit X: ‘Aye, you’ve put on a few of the kilo’s y’self since you started at the station….it’s always gonna catch up on ya.’
Pundit Y: ‘So what did ye think of that Athletican performance eh?’
Pundit X: ‘Subject change eh? When I was 38 I was lighter than you sonny – come back again at 61 and start throwin’ ya weight about then…’
Pundit Y: ‘I don’t think you’ll…’
Pundit X: ‘Don’t even think about it sonny.’
Athletico gave Metronova little hope in a pulsating game sponsored by Garlosa Co-Operatives
A Lunderbach Health and Well-Being Festival driven by pressures like consumer demand and looming municipale regulations that will require them to post calorie counts on menus, restaurant chains around the Sporting region are adding more nutritious choices and shrinking portion sizes. “Menu labelling is part of it, but there’s also been a lot of finger-pointing at the industry by the media and others, including customers, that is spurring the movement,” said Marcella Friedhach – a registered dietitian who is president of The Sporting League Health Conglomeration.

Pointeso hit poor also-rans Pacifica for six as they maintained their lead at the summit.
Pacifica boss: ‘That team are something special – we were completely outclassed for the full ninety minutes. We’ll re-group and have a long hard look at ourselves. We’ve got to stay focused now for the rest of the season. We’ll have better days than today that’s for sure…’
Novia maintained their outsider challenge to hold onto second spot with a one goal to nil win at home to Red Star.
Novia boss: ‘We’re still looking at getting ourselves a top five finish. You’ve gotta remember that we’ve brought in the kids and it’s a long old season. We need to stay focused – there’s not gonna be any revolution this time around – Pointeso have run away with it already.’
Pundit X: ‘I was down at the Pointeso match…I’m sorry but Novia are dreamin’ if they think they’re gonna be in the top seven at the business end of the season.’
The Bolsov insurance industry is today accused of funding negative equity research. The claim comes from the respected Green Tree Ethical Consumer magazine. Its research shows that big insurers such as Hellerton and Clivestone are funding major mineral exploration in the Indentine Industriale district by investing in firms whose activities risk widespread environmental disaster.

Pointeso maintained their unbeaten run with a last gasp winner against a heart broken Bolsov outfit.
Bolsov gaffer: ‘I’ve got no complaints with what we were trying to do out there today. We’ve proved that we’ve got one of the toughest defences when all the lads are fit. We’re all aware that our front line needs to improve but there are few out and out strikers on the market at the moment. Our priority has gotta be staying in the league and pushing on next season.’
Sporting Radio Pundit X: ‘I think the Pointesians got a bit of an early Christmas present out there today in the shape of three largely undeserved points. I mean, take a butchers at the stats; they only had thirty five percent of the possession. To be honest, I get the impression a few of their guys were carrying niggles and perhaps the odd festive headache. Well, come on…I may be a bit old for the Pointeso scene but I’m not too past it to realise the strength of those fancy cocktails down on Hiller Temple Way!’
Athletico plunged Olby back into the danger zone with a convincing five goals to nil away win.
Sporting Radio Pundit X: ‘If I was a betting man…well I am a betting man…I’d say that the Olby gaffer will be making the long walk all the way to the jobcentre for that performance alone. The whole thing is a completely unreal situation…’
Sporting League Results: Game 12
If there ever were a true foregone conclusion, then top of the table Pointeso beating bottom side Metronova by four goals to one was hardly an eyebrow raiser.
Metronova Gaffer: ‘When things aren’t going well, things get all blown out of proportion. The lads gave it their all against the best side in the league. We’ve just got to plan for the crunch match against Green Tree and see if we can put some points on the board.’
Athletico and Bayerns cancelled one another out in a whirlwind two – two draw.
Sporting Radio Pundit X: ‘It’s crazy to think that we’re already talking about these clubs as also-rans after just twelve games.’
Novia continued their push for the top three with a convincing away win over basement club Pacifica.
Sporting Radio Pundit L: ‘Well Pacifica have got their work cut out if they wanna avoid the drop now. I think they’ve got half a chance of bouncing back but thir gaffer will need to be active in the January transfer market.’
Pointeso have officially merged with The Halsteft subsidiary group Pillerson.
‘The new Pointeso Zone that markets itself as “wide open for business,” the lines are often blurred between decision makers and beneficiaries, according to interviews with dozens of zonal and local officials and corporate representatives. Sporting City in many instances is relying on businesses and consultants like Hegel Jofasson for suggestions on what incentives to grant and which companies should receive them, as well as on other factors that directly affect public spending and budgets, the interviews show.’ Sporting Economic Times.
