Sporting League: Game 19

Bayerns and Universo Collunteen cancelled one another out in the chess like nil – nil draw. Sporting Radio pundit X: ‘Well, I kept expecting to see one of those players out there to hit the back of the net but it wasn’t to be. It was a match that had it all – bar a goal. I’m looking at the league table now and see that Universo have only conceded seven goals in nineteen games. They seem to have tightened things up a lot at the back, but they need to be wary about sacrificing their forward line in the process. The stats show that the Bayerns had twenty two shots on goal compared to just three for Universo. In saying that, none of the Bayerns chances were clear cut apart from the embarrassing hoof in the dying seconds from their top striker.’

Champions Novia made relegation even more of a realistic proposition for Drakens as they won by two goals to one at the Drakens ground…

Sporting Radio Pundit X: ‘I can’t remember a point in that game where the Drakens managed to string more than two passes together – such was the Universo domination. I was in the bookies the other day and overheard a couple of Universo supporters talking about putting their factory wages on their team going the season without defeat. It’s really got me thinkin’ now.’

Pundit Y: ‘Nah, they’ll come unstuck at some point. If you’re looking at the best team on paper, it’s gotta be Tranquilayers who are having a reformation of sorts…’

Pundit X: Seriously mate, you should come with me to a Universo game, there’s a real buzz all around the place, even when they play away from home. You spend too much of your time hangin’ out in the cool Pointeso bars watchin’ the big screens. Get real son, the young hipsters are callin’ you grandaddy.
