Pointeso made easy work of their match against with a three goals to nil home win over deflated Pacifica as they enter the last five games of the season.
Pointeso gaffer: ‘We’ve got ourselves a five point cushion with the best goal difference in the league. It’s all in our own hands now and that fixture today was branded as a potential banana skin for us. We just picked it up and put it in the compost bin.’
Universo maintained the pressure after hammering basement fodder Saints by five goals to nil.
Novia recovered after going a goal down to nil at Red Star to finally prevail with a two goals to one victory.
The Sporting League: Game 32
Universo Collunteen officially ended any slim outside hopes for champions Tranquilayers with a three goals to two home win.
Sporting Radio Pundit X: ‘I think Universo will be dissappointed that they didn’t put the game out of sight by half time and could’ve easily put five past the blues. It’s gonna be one hell of a final run in here at the business end of the campaign.’

Leaders Pointeso secured another one goal to nil win – this time against lowly Metronova.
Sporting Radio Pundit X: ‘Metronova have been one of those sides that promised so much in their early days but failed to deliver. Pointeso find themselves on the cusp of greatness but they’ve still got the small matter of getting results in their last seven games. I think they’ve probably just done enough to get over the line first but Universo are gonna push ’em all the way now.’
Tranquilayers moved up to third after a faultless performance against Sporting Athlete.
Athletico and Bayerns cancelled each other out and proved once again why the sides holding 3rd to 6th positions have drifted out of title contention.

Sporting League: Game 30
The value for money Olby gaffer was up to his old tricks again and is facing a ban for the rest of the season after appearing to throw a packet of marshmallow flumps into the Bayerns dugout at the end of the game.
Olby gaffer: ‘I was getting it in the ear for the whole match from the Bayerns boss – well they’re not gonna win another title for at least ten years. I’m just gutted that the ref turned down five penalty calls for us – out of order.’
