I have used colour circles to represent the movement of the wheels in this image and their placements. Instead of creating something that looks just like it i wanted to make something less representative.
After adding a few pieces to the work and fixing it to where it should be i have decided to move on to a completely new seperate partner project. The idea of creating individual lots instead of one large contraption seems to be the way forward, this will not only change the angle of my work but will also enable its transfer to be a lot easier.
Watching Tinguely’s work in action has given me a few ideas of my own to incorporate into my own work.
Today i was intending to carry on with the growth of the project but unfortunately that prospect had to take a back seat as everything became undone. The strings were loosening which reduced tension causing them to snap, bring parts down upon themselves and making the string wrap itself around the cogs of the main wheel. I have had to take steps in order to rectify the situation. Though this has made me reflect upon Tinguely’s “Homage to New York” as a self dustructive piece.
The use of a projector gave me an idea to project a light against my own work and see where that goes.
