The ‘colossal masking arm’. Today I scared myself by making a sculpture that miniaturised its surroundings and made its predecessor ‘masking arms’ look like puppies. The height and scale has made some thing very intimidating, making you approach it with caution and respect, like a mine that hasn’t gone off, I have utter confidence it my ability to weld, but as this is the largest thing I have done in metal I have to respect it. With this intimidating effect I think I have almost reached the essence of the soap factory, a machine of terror, a device of change.

Scavenging + going to see my prints. Well today wasn’t about making it was about getting more material to make more stuff with. I didn’t expect to be running out of material so fast as i’ve been collecting metal and other things for a while now, for 2 years, just in case I needed them, like a hoarder, which is a good thing as it has saved me a lot of money in the long run. Getting ready to make another ‘masking arm’ tomorrow and also making a furnace to melt some aluminium to make a soap mask.
‘Skull balloon’ first test of the ‘skull balloon’, and it worked with great amusement. I want to carry on doing the test with the skull and push it to the limits till it burst, but I would like to get it set up in a better setting as there is to much shit in my space now and I cant really move.
‘The Processor’. New drawings of a machine that turns the corpses in to soap to fuel the ‘Soap factory’.
‘Masking arm 2’ Today I have created another machine, but also I have taken some interesting photos of the machine in the dark, which create very interesting shapes and forms on the surrounding walls and ceiling. I will be taking a more in-depth look in to the shadows tomorrow as this is the final look I would like to achieve for the degree show.
