I found another photo of the same ex boyfriend. I found looking at this photo after so long quite difficult emotionally. I decided that I wanted to rip the photo up and re construct it.
This is to represent how im not picking up the pieces any more. A few people on my course have asked “why are you putting the pieces back together? Why dont you just burn them or throw them away?”
But I like the idea of re costructing the photograph and framing it for all to see. All of his flaws, spelt out so no one would make the same mistakes i did.
I felt that the teacup which contains the smaller photograph should be shattered and re constructed too. The cup and saucer in this case represents how i had to rebuild myself after the abuse.
