This week I have been at my computer a lot working on editing my photos using different software to create different images using the images I already have of my face. I want to try and take a new approach to these images, I am at the moment a bit doubtful about them. I am not sure that they are putting across the message that I want to. I wanted to create natural photographs and these are thee complete opposite of that. However It does put an interesting twist on the images as I have been dysmorphing the images of my face using sewing and pleating. This is what I would call the “modern mother”. As in my work I use sewing to reference the ‘mother’ (the insignificant other) from theories from Freud, I choice to use sewing as this is a skill that only women done in the past and is documented throughout history also it is something you link with the mother, it defiantly reminds me of my own mother as she was a seamstress. So these images are a more modern mother, the office mother or the hard working mother in line with these technical ‘men’. So for that reason I think they work from that point of view.
