Just a quick post as i have been harding some crochet squares with pva glue and managed to finally create a solid cube of which i have visualized in my mind for ages. I would say it was a success but i am not sure whether to take it further as yet. We will have to see.

So this is a rather late update on events but anyway. Wednesday 15th of January i went along with a friend to the London Art Fair in the Business Design Centre in Islington. We were both stunned at the vast amount of work and artists accumilated within the venue which was huge. We had spent five and a half hours getting around the whole venue so there plenty to see. Just to drop a few names, we saw Pablo Picasso, Joan Miro, Grayson Perry, Charlotte Hodes, Peter Doig, Jin-young Yu, Emma Bennett, Chiyu Uemae, Tom Stogdon, Christian Faur and so many more.
I found the day very overwhelming because of the velocity of work, there was so much to take in. I found so many pieces to be a real eye opener and to see some work from a couple of my favourite artists (Grayson Perry and Robert Bradford) gave me a huge buzz that had my ideas provoked all evening.
I found some the work very chaotic to look at while work was calm and then some peices were entrancing. It has made me think more about what i want my audience to feel, see, experience and understand when it comes to my degree show. How much audience particpation do i allow, if any? Do i go large or tiny?Less is more or should i evoke chaos?
Just a few things i will keep in the back of my mind while creating things over the coming months. The exhibtion as a whole has given me that extra boost i needed in order to really get experimenting more with the materials i have.
Im on abit of a mad one today. I decided to stop being a lazy arse and do something creative. I have made a couple video’s to inform the contemporary side of my project. This one is of my beagle and myself in a mad compliation of craft items and modern song. If that makes sense. Anyway enjoy!!!!

Just wanted to add a photo of a hat i have knitted as it is my first knitted piece that it not just a basic knit pattern. I did the hat so to practise reducing and adding stitches in my knit/purl pattern.
So its a new year and i have started up some new ideas. I am experimenting as much as i can with my knitting skills to create different techniques and ways of working with the materials at hand. I have started creating crochet cubes from small squares, i dont know what i want to do with these yet but i know i am fascinated with the cube shape, especially because my cubes are formed with materials that are not solid or sturdy in any way.
Also i have create some hand knitted squares, on which i am playing with some words. I was thinking of framing them as a typtrich. This is a working progress as i am still figuring out colour combinations.
Also i am sewing a beagle motif onto a crochet blanket. The concept is changing the ordinary blanket into a kind of dog blanket, but also i am looking at it as though it is a tapestry as its taking a long time to create, just like a tapestry does. This links to Grayson Perry and his tapestry as my conceptual reference.
I was thinking last night about the transformation and developement of my work from craft to fine art. I think i may mix together photography, textiles, video and my handmade items in a show of sight, sound and touch that shows the transformation of an idea and a material. I dont know yet, just a thought.
