I am in my final year of the Fine art BA Hons degree at New College Stamford, this is in association with the University of Lincoln, the location bodes well with having a young daughter at school and a food chain of critters at home.
Degree show now starting to feel like a distant memory. Had some really good comments on the night and overall received a lot of positive comments.
The exhibition opened at 7 managed to get there for about half past after getting my daughter fed and ready as well as myself. Was a bit of a rush as I didn’t get home until 5-ish after a few final tweaks and paint touch ups.
The wine went down slightly too well but was definately deserved and needed.
Will finish taking down the exhibition on Wednesday and then that’s it, shall just have to wait for our results.
Went to my local open studios with fellow ex-student Nicki, inspired and ready to create new work.
Back to work after the Easter holidays and it’s all go, especially with what goes in what folder, PDP, Art practice, huh?
Visited the Tate Modern during the hols to see Gabriel Orozco’s exhibition, absolutely loved it, I would definitely recommend a visit. Yielding Stone, Lintels and Until You Find Another Yellow Schwalbe were pieces that really stood out to me, also some amazing photographic work.
2 weeks off for easter, I’m not sure if this is a good thing, relax or not to relax? that is the question….
I think that I am up to date with the creating aspect of my work, artist statement and cv to do, really not my forte.
You see, this is why I like the good old traditional crafts; you are in control of every mark made, where trying to upload a bloody video, which should be simple (allegedly) an hour later still unsuccessful. I’m stepping away from the computer and off to carve stone!
