Critical Perspectives at Teesside University has announced its first round of visiting artist and curatorial talks for the season. The aim of this series is to begin conversations around new directions in contemporary art and practice, as well as examine future viewpoints for envisioning the role of art school and education in a quickly changing world. Theorist Simon Critchley observed, ‘The problem with contemporary art is that we all think we know what it means and we don’t.’ With an international focus and interdisciplinary approach, Teesside University Fine Art’s Critical Perspectives lecture series challenges us to rethink our location within an ever-evolving community of artists in the twenty-first century. Critical Perspectives visiting lecture series presents artists and thinkers from across disciplines, who offer artist talks, lectures, workshops and tutorials at Teesside University. This series is open to the public. More information here.
