photo diary of recent days
loaded and ready for 7 hour journey to Broomhill
Sculpture progressing well.
Now completely free-standing and surprising everybody of its deceptive interior space. Once inside you feel enveloped by the steel structure and separated from the surroundings …. Just as I had hoped for.
The delicate decisions of where to have apertures has now been made. Scaled up it became clear ‘less was more’ and after much agonising and deliberation… now happy with choices.
Next step was to manufacture and create cylinders offering variety of viewpoints (see images)
‘Viewpoint was never intended to be site specific, rather a sculpture that would benefit any given landscape. It is very interesting now that it is nearly fully formed that I can see its full potential in so many possible settings.
Working with my friends Den and Sam at their workshop ‘Peggs & Sons’
has been fantastic …. I praise them for their encouragement, good humour and above all patience!
