I did a day’s workshop in wax casting at The Yorkshire Sculpture Park. This is part of a new direction for me in learning new skills in sculpture for future works and installation. The day was very informative and fun, I love the action of making and using your hands feeling the different textures of the wax, clay and plaster. I had the idea of trying to make a Death Mask in wax, maybe too ambitious for a day’s workshop when your learning from scratch and so I wasn’t totally pleased with the out come of the mask colour wise and shape but it was my first attempt at this process and i will be trying out further experiments in my studio in the future. which i will post about but for now here is a photo library of the day.
