Six sculptors, Paul Lewthwaite, Andrew Revell, Michael Shaw, Cathy Ward, Julian Wild and David Worthington focus on the area between the second and third dimension. “2 ½ d” is an exhibition curated by Julian Wild that challenges our perception of the object. It is an exploration of two dimensional works and animations that allude to form and space and sculptures that make reference to two-dimensionality. The six sculptors examine this concept through their work and raise questions of how a state of half reality relates to the predominantly three-dimensional and tangible practice of sculpture and the influence of the virtual upon a sculptors work.
