An exhibition by three artists, Frances Lowe, Geoff Simpson and Gay Wilson all working in very different media. Frances is a batik artist using a traditional technique on silk. The combination of silk and dye has a special brilliance of colour and light that underpins her landscapes, flower studies and seascapes. Most of Geoff's work is figurative, drawn and painted using traditional materials. Also more recently, his use of the computer as a painting tool has extended his view of image making.Trained as a potter, Gay has taken her work into low relief. She makes heavily textured papers and works onto them with ink, paint and metal paste. She sometimes uses a blowlamp to alter form and texture. The resulting landscapes and decorative pieces often have a jewel-like and iridescent finish.
