"Lineup", a film by Florencia Guerberof will be part of 700IS Experimental International Video Art Festival in Egilsstadir, Iceland. A line of people wearing beige clothes evokes human condition in its brutal physicality. The film focuses on the headless characters movement, crowded awkwardly against each other. The linear composition echoes systematic genocide reinforcing the idea of the body objectified through uniformity and anonimity. Conceptually, I explore human condition under an existentialist perspective. I intend to place the body at the same level of objects, reducing it to a tangible reality. Under this perspective, the world appears strictly physical and finite. I depict the human body as detached from meaning, appearing in its excessive form from which it can no longer signify.
