Euroart’s fine arts complex of 43 studios will be celebrating its 7th Open Studios the weekend 5 – 7 June, showing an eclectic mix of high quality art – painting, sculpture, installation, animation, costume design, SFX sculpture, video, photography, silent auction, live performances & more. Created in 2002 by international artist Lorraine Clarke (and partner Nigel Young, an aerospace engineer), Euroart boasts an impressive collection of talented artists and surely merits past visitors’ comments such as “never have I seen so much quality work in one location”. Lorraine is a prolific artist and amongst an amazing collection of work, visitors will also see pieces from her exhibition “Nosce Te Ipsum”, of which Jessica Lack (Guardian Guide) wrote “… it’s a spiritual rollercoaster ride into the human psyche”. Other artists opening their studios include ex-BBC News Correspondent and TV presenter Triona (Palmer), who now works across a number of mediums re-interrogating the events (wars, famines, disasters) she witnessed as a reporter; Nigel Booth who was responsible for prosthetics & makeup in films such as Hellboy 2 and The English Patient. Visitors will be also treated to Anne Teahan’s enchanting and magical paper sculptures, live performances by artists of Haringey Arts, exploration of the world of theatre costumes & photoshoot with Susan Hall and much more.
