Salon Projects are proud to present the work of British- based artist Rosalind Davis. Rosalind Davis conjures up a world of social decay with her portraits of deprivation and dystopian landscapes. Sensitive yet complex her mixed media works highlight the breakdown of social housing, community and the overall failings of modernity. Davis via paint, embroidery and floral-print textiles juxtaposes household interiors onto the external landscape, what was once inside – curtains and upholstery, the domestic – gets turned outward. Garish floral prints infect the sky and sickly blooms colonise everything to create a claustrophobic world from behind closed doors.
