Temari is an ancient and beautiful Japanese craft that involves embroidering the surface of a handmade ball with stunning designs. Join Nicola Davis, a member of the Japanese Temari Association and the UK Embroiderers’ Guild for this unique Christmas bauble making workshop, using traditional Japanese craft skills.
You will be blending mathematics and symmetry with unexpected twists of colour to create your own handmade bauble. As well as learning a new craft, participants will leave with their own Christmas design to treasure for years to come.
By the end of this course you will:
- Acquire knowledge of the basic techniques used to create a Temari ball
- Learn about the history of this fascinating and little-known craft
- Create your own Temari bauble to take home for your Christmas tree or to give as a gift
