Middlesex University, in partnership with Gasworks Gallery, is delighted to present A HEAP OF LANGUAGE, a group show by ten artists currently studying on the MA in Fine Art. Taking both its inspiration and its title from Robert Smithson’s 1967 work, this culturally diverse group seeks dialogues and processes that embroider a small space with big conversations and new translations. From the planning stages to the final display, the show draws on the notion of dialectical view of language. Through their experiments with a variety of different materials and forms, the artists reconfigure and repurpose language as both material and communication.
Gasworks is a non-profit contemporary visual art organisation working at the intersection between UK and international practices and debates. Middlesex MA Fine Art are excited to take this opportunity to exhibit as part of Gasworks participation programme and to reflect this ethos in our cross-cultural work. Middlesex MA Fine Art is a small, dynamic course for full and part-time students working across disciplines.
