‘NOTE TONE’ is 12 hour performance by Alastair MacLennan presented as part of Action Art Now, curated by O U I Performance. Supported by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, Action Art Now presents new work by five artists and brings together a network of arts organisations in the U.K. The programme is part of The Festival of Ideas & York800, celebrating 800 years of the city of York. O U I Performance actively encourages difficult modes of artistic production and consumption existing firmly outside the commercial art market. Alastair MacLennan is one of the UK’s most influential performance art practitioners. MacLennan is a member of Belfast’s Beyond Performance Collective and of the performance art entity Black Market International. He has represented Northern Ireland at the Venice Biennale and currently holds a position of Emiritus Professor at the University of Ulster. For more information please visit: http://www.ouiperformance.org.uk
