Amber Stevens is our appointed Artist in Residence for our one month long summer Residency. Amber has just graduated from the University of Hertfordshire with a BA in Fine Art. Her work is exciting and quirky sculptural forms mostly using found objects and recycled materials. She writes: My preference is to use found and scrapmaterial or to repurpose items in an attempt to draw out their hidden qualities. The various elements used become building blocks that can be contructed and de-constructed in different ways, allowing for transient or ‘floating’ structures that are often fragile in nature.
