House and Home: Sunday 29th September, 10.00 am to 4.00 pm
In this one day workshop you will be working with artist and tutor, Anne Kelly.
Houses and buildings are a rich source of inspiration for textile collage work. We will use a variety of found textiles, techniques and stitch to create a special piece representing a house or home of your choice, or a building with special memories. The work will be personal to you, and you will be encouraged to use references that appeal to you, making a personal piece of work through which you will be guided.
All materials will be provided to complete your project, but if there is anything personal to you that you would like to include, then you are encouraged to bring anything that you would like, be that ephemera, printed photographs, trimmings, ribbon, or fabric.
Anne will provide a fascinating insight into her textile artwork and planning, and will assist throughout the process. The workshop is suitable for any skill level, whether you have sewn or printed before or not, as no previous experience is required. Victoria will also be on hand to provide guidance where needed. The use of a sewing machine is not necessary, but one will be available for use.
Included in the workshop:
• All materials are included for your project, but if there is anything in particular that you would like to use then please bring this along.
• Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided, and you are welcome to bring a packed lunch to the studio.
