Great music, great food and flying paint, what more could you want?
Painters put their skills to the test with only 20 minutes to turn blank canvases into incredible pieces of original art. Audience vote decides who will go home with the Golden Brush and earn their spot on the National Final. This is Art Battle©.
Competing artist include Mark Slowley, founder of the mental health charity DWD (https://dwdevents.org/), who works in a “daze of experimentation”. Lynn Ede (https://www.instagram.com/artadaylynn/?hl=en) who “wants to win, but also just enjoy it all”. We have our first artist from Manchester competing, with Krystan-Grace Sharpe-Young who works with “Photorealistic portraiture, white on black backgrounds highlighting emotion and humanity.”
Millie Gleeson (www.milliegleeson.com) took home the trophy on March 22nd with her fantastic pair of portraits. She’ll be returning as the featured artist on the night and we can’t wait to see what she will create.
All works created, including Millie’s, will be available for silent auction on the night, bridging the gap between creators and collectors, creating a supportive creative community, and allowing audiences to take away a part of the night to remember.
Local business, Niche Framing, have come on board to help sponsor the event and will be on hand for people who are looking for a beautiful frame for their work.
All art materials for the artists to show off their skills along with all prizes for the winners are provided by our headline, national sponsor, Daler-Rowney.
