Adelle A’asante
Adelle A’asante, a lived-experience storyteller, hails from a long lineage of West African Griots.
She focuses on the sacred art of storytelling as a tool for social change and justice. Currently,
she emerges as a New Creative in Calderdale, using her artistic practice to illuminate forgotten
narratives of marginalized communities, aiming to foster empathy and inspire social
transformation. Through the New Creatives Traineeship, she aspires to grow as a visual artist,
contributing to Halifax’s vibrant art landscape, and advocating for fair and sustainable practices
in her project exploring cocoa as a pedagogy, an art medium, an embodied absence of the past,
and as the Cocoa Artist.
CHOCOLATE HAS A NAME

Roger Hitchen
I worked all my professional life in first Further, then Higher Education in Art and Design. For many years I worked on the Graphic Media Communication degree at the Bradford School of Arts and Media and always enjoyed working with the students. For the last four years of my career I managed the arts and media degrees and masters programmes in the Bradford School of Art, working with a great team of people across the full range of arts and media disciplines.
I have now retired from this and devote much of my time to my artwork and photography. I have found new groups of like minded people to work with and take part in two life drawing workshops each week (see Links). This site shows the range of ongoing work I do and represents the interests I have in a number of directions. I believe it will be evident to the viewer which type of artwork and photography is drawing me most at the moment and although the painting section shows only a small number of pieces at this time, I hope to explore this much more fully in the future, so look out for more postings!
