Kimbal Bumstead
Kimbal’s art practice stems from his background in participatory performance art and his fascination with maps. His work explores notions of the imagined and re-imagined landscape, abstraction as a form of storytelling, and mark-making as a tool to tune-in to sensory, emotional and embodied experiences. He uses a broad range of media, from painting and drawing through to video, live performance and site-specific installation. He is currently working on a project exploring drawing from sound and creating electronic music using field recordings.
Originally from London, Kimbal studied Fine Art at the University of Leeds (2008), followed by a Masters in Performance and Theatre from Queen Mary University of London (2010). He has exhibited and performed internationally and is currently based in York where he facilitates workshops, participatory drawing projects and runs art classes for adult education.

Shahina Jaffer
Shahina Jaffer is a graduate of St Martin’s School of Art in London, England, with an impressive body of work. She has shown her work in exhibitions all over the world, including London, Barcelona, New York, Mexico City, and Genoa, and she has recently added to this list with her exhibition at the Virtual Burning Man 2020 festival. Jaffer’s artistic output is centred on perception, and it encompasses all natural phenomena, corporeal or celestial. Using paint, water, and the elements as conductors of energy. Her work focuses on the exploration of movement, allowing paint to flow freely and without interruption. Her work encourages and investigates the encounter between artist and observer by combining emotional intuition and empirical observation. Jaffer’s creative exploration, combined with her extensive knowledge of human behaviour, pushes traditional boundaries, revealing a deeper meaning in her work that might otherwise go unnoticed. She described her distinct point of view in an interactive TEDx talk titled “The Art of Perception.” She believes that art should be a participatory experience in which the viewer embarks on a personal journey.
