Check out Andrew Omoding’s Birdman of Primrose Hill, where Andrew beckons and performs with bird-like sculptures on top of Primrose Hill and at Camden Art Centre’s garden in London. Inspired by seeing Chucky Yi flying his parrots on Primrose Hill, their fantastic colours and plumage, resonated with Andrew, informing his handmade costume, sculptural birds and headdress which all feature in the film.
The film was commissioned by Camden Art Centre and shown as part of Andrew’s solo exhibition Animals to Remember Uganda at Camden Art Centre in 2024.
Andrew Omoding is a Ugandan-British artist who lives and works in London. His masterful hybrid constructions sit between figuration and abstraction and often tell autobiographical stories of London or new surroundings.
