Join us for this edition of ART // TECH // PLAY LIVE, where we’ll be focusing on creatives using tech to make magical experiences for children and families! You’ll be treated to some insightful artist talks and interactive installations, as well as the opportunity to meet wonderful like-minded creatives working in and around Norwich.
We’ll be joined by the brilliant Charlotte Arculus from Great Yarmouth’s Magic Acorns, arguably the UK’s first and only multimedia art venue specifically for young children. Through collaborations with early years practitioners, artists and cultural organisations, Magic Acorns make extraordinary multi-sensory creations and training accessible to children, artists, educators and the wider community, both in the UK and internationally. Charlotte will be telling us all about Magic Acorns’ ways of devising special experiences for young children and the role tech plays in their work.
We’ll also be hearing from Anna Williams and Tom Roden of Anatomical, a leading interactive family dance theatre company making small- and middle-scale shows and digital projects. They have so far produced two digital projects: the interactive audio adventure Midsummerland, and the film This World is Made For Me; and have recently joined Collusion’s new ART // TECH // PLAY residency programme to develop an interactive art/tech project about football crowds.
After the talks, you’ll also get to try your hand at some physical computing with Collusion’s array of accessible interactive tech, including animating and projecting doodles with TagTool, and playing a synth made out of bananas powered by a Bare Conductive touchboard!
Tickets are £6, get yours here. We can’t wait to see you there!
This event is part of Collusion’s ART // TECH // PLAY programme and network that supports artists and creatives to develop their skills around creative technologies in a practice-led way.
