VIBRANT artists’ community The Forge welcomes visitors to an open day for a chance to see what goes on behind the studio doors. A wide range of contemporary work will be on show, as well as individual pieces for sale, at the large purpose built space set in beautiful countryside at Digswell. The Forge houses nine artist studios as well as a print studio, equipped with one of the largest etching presses in the country. Works will range from original prints and paintings to installation, sculpture, glass, textiles and collage, including work by Ella Carty, Veronica Grassi, Maxine King, Chris Groombridge, Sally Tyrie, Mary Down, Gill Ayre, Alex McIntyre, Julia Skrebels, Suman Gujral and guest artist Jo Howe. During the Open Day artists will be available to talk about their work. Outside artists and beginners interested in print techniques will also be able to talk with member printmaker Sally Tyrie who runs a popular print workshop and ‘Open Access’ programme.
