Tapestry weaver and Society of Designer Craftsmen member, Bridget Lane, and Craft Potters Association member, Birgit Pohl, will be showing their work at this venue for the Artists’ Open House event this May, as part of the Dulwich Festival.
Influenced by the forms of late modernism, Bridget Lane’s hand-woven tapestries are a response to the seemingly mundane, that familiar place, a recognisable view, an everyday occurrence.
Birgit Pohl makes wheel thrown, hand decorated porcelain pots. Her shapes are inspired predominantly from objects that filled the family home in Germany, and her decorations are based on automatic drawings.
It’s a chance to see both tapestries and pots up close and chat with the artists. There’ll be weaving demonstrations both weekends.
11th / 12th May – 11am – 6pm
18th / 19th May – 11am – 6pm
With over 400 artists taking part in the Artists’ Open House, it’s an ideal opportunity to visit a whole host of amazing makers. Visit the AOH website here for more details.
