Young Guys, Young Girls, Old Boys, Grandmothers, Ladies, Gentlemen, Artists, Families, Artist Families, Audiences and Participants wanted, needed and requested for Birthday extravaganza! On 17 January 1963, artist Robert Filliou proclaimed Art was 1,000,000 years old, proposing “a public holiday to celebrate the presence of art in our lives”. So according to this, Art will be 1,000,047 years old on 17 January 2010! To commemorate this event, you are invited to join ESA and Art Bloc, York’s contemporary arts collective for activities and discussions connecting West and North Yorkshire to international celebrations! Get involved! If you would like to propose an idea, send a link, take part in the events or even planning to do something for Art’s Birthday somewhere else, we would like to hear from you!
