‘babblesnatch’ invites an immersion in a space of cascading, undulating, rebounding Sound. Listeners use their imagination to consider what it might be like to experience the usually non-audible digital voices continually enveloping us. Emerging from a hubbub of sonic colour and texture are recognisable words that take on a significance that Listeners have to decide for themselves.
Importantly Sound and Listening as artforms in their own right are placed centre-stage, along with our capacity to go beyond what is visible, so critical in a digital world where hard fact increasingly downplays the importance of life lived through the emotions.
